Even though internet marketing is a relatively new industry it would be fair to say that it is changing at a very fast rate and if you are someone who wants to be an internet marketing success you really should embrace all of the changes that are happening all of the time, if you don’t, well to be perfectly honest, you won’t have an internet marketing business.
Let me explain, it was only a few years ago when it was all of the rage to build mini sites, websites with only five or six pages, content was added to each page, a little bit of marketing was carried out and that was about it. I know from first hand experience that these websites were extremely profitable and many successful marketers based their entire business around building as many of these mini sites as possible.
Well, it was good while it lasted but now, websites like those would not stand a chance of achieving good search engine rankings, Google have made it clear that they require websites to have lots of quality content which is added on a regular basis and these websites will achieve much higher rankings and are the way forward as far as internet marketing goes.
There are many other example of activities that one worked really well but which now would be the equivalent of internet marketing suicide if they were carried out now, getting involved in link farms and creating spun content spring to mind but I can assure you that there are lots of other examples out there which will only goes to emphasise the change in internet marketing.
There will no doubt be lots more in the future so always keep your eye on the ball but I should perhaps point out that if you have your own blogs and websites, keeping the quality of your content to a high standard so that it is actually seen as value to your visitors will always keep you on the right side of any changes that may happen in the future.
I have always found that if you keep the needs of your customers at the top of the agenda you won’t go far wrong and even though you might have to adjust things slightly, the basis of your business will mean that you always stay on top of the game and that after all, is what it is all about, isn’t it.
