FaceBook is one of our favourite social media platforms that we use to promote our Internet marketing business, as well as our other online business ventures. There is no denying the amazing power that FaceBook has on the effect of an online business, and we have certainly seen the impact of this form of social media on our business.
Of the many features on FaceBook, one of our favourite features happens to be sponsored stories. What is a sponsored story? In short, a sponsored story is a message that comes from your FaceBook friends that shows how they engage with your page, an app or even an event that they are attending via FaceBook.
Have you ever checked FaceBook and seen the different activities that your friends are engaging in as part of your status feed? For example, if one of your friends has accepted an invitation to an event, or if one of your friends started using a new app, or check into a business, have you ever seen this information appear in your news feed? If so, than this is an example of a sponsored story.
We just love sponsored stories, because we see them as a great way to increase your exposure on the FaceBook platform. For example, if someone ‘likes’ our page, it will show up in the status updates of that person that he or she ‘liked’ our page. This means that all of the people who are friends with that one person are now able to see our page. What does this mean? It means that we have even more exposure to the people who use FaceBook, which means that we are presented with the opportunity to expand our business even more.
Sponsored stories are a great way to spread the word about your business even more. While there is a small fee associated with sponsored stories, that small fee is absolutely worth it, because in the end, you stand attracting an even larger client base, which can translate into more money for you at the end of the day.
If you have not yet signed up for FaceBook’s sponsored stories, we highly suggest that you consider doing so. Weigh the pros and cons of doing so, and I bet that you will find that the pros to using sponsored stories far outweigh the cons. Worst case scenario, if you don’t like it, you can opt out of it.
