There is nothing better than a highly ranked website which brings you constant traffic around the clock, to me, that is what internet marketing really is about and I cannot begin to describe the advantages of having a number of websites, all making you money in this way, every day, every month and every year.
It is therefore extremely important to keep your website search engine friendly and not to do anything to jeopardise what is basically a gold mine. I have always found that the best way to do this is to add new content to your websites on a regular basis and the most recent Google updates have confirmed that this is the way to go to keep your websites well ranked.
Too many people let writing content frighten them and become completely overwhelmed by it all when it is all very simple. You don’t have to be able to write to a particularly high standard to be honest but if you just write about aspects that your visitors will find interesting, you really can’t go far wrong.
Even if you just write a few hundred words every other day, Google will see your website as one of authority, if you also add to the mix some selective back linking the results will be absolutely fantastic. By selective backlinking I mean with websites and blogs that are in the same niche as you, Google will spot this straight away and if you are not at the top of the search engines now, you soon will be.
One thing not to do is to make your website to flashy, it may look good with flashing banners and lots of videos but if the website takes ages to load, it is not only your visitors who will get tired of waiting but Google will penalise you for it. Just take a look at the biggest websites out there, Ebay, Twitter and Facebook for example, they are about as basic as you could possible get but we all know how successful they are.
Don’t get bogged down with trying to appeal to the search engines, keep things simple and you will find that everything will be fine, the worst thing that you could do is not add any content on a regular basis or try and be to clever with both the website design and complicated back linking methods.
