I don’t know about you but when I am looking for some information online, whether that is something to do with my business or something to do with a hobby, if the date of the last post to that blog was something like a year ago I will most likely start to look elsewhere. If someone is not making regular blog posts it tells me that they are not taking their business seriously and I would much rather take my custom elsewhere.
On the other hand, if I arrive at a blog and find that it is full of fresh content it will make me think that this is someone that I definitely want to do business with and I will more than like investigate further to see what else it is that they have to offer.
What I have just explained is obviously the view of a consumer but don’t also forget that if a blog is kept up to date with lots of fresh content it will also mean that Google will take more notice of the and the search engine ranking of that blog will be reflected by the amount of work that has been put into it.
All in all, the benefits of adding to your blog with fresh and informative content are numerous, in terms of your human visitors as well as the spiders from the search engine but many people are put off because they thing that they will have to spend hours on end writing. This really could not be further from the truth because the content that is added to the blog doesn’t have to be hundreds or thousands of words. If content is being added on a daily basis just a few hundred words will suffice and as the chances are that you know a lot about your business you will probably find that the writing tasks for each day can be completed in around 20 minutes, those 20 minutes of writing could be the most profitable 20 minutes that you spend all day!
So many people get back to me and say that once they get in the routine of writing for a short amount of time each day it all becomes much easier and before they know it, their blog has become one of authority and is receiving more traffic on a daily basis than they could have ever imagined.
